Publicity

The Public Meeting Is Here!

You are invited to join the Student Sustainable Projects Committee to hear this year’s proposals for Pitt Green Fund projects!

We will be meeting with the proposers to hear their ideas, and you’re invited to ask questions and make comments.

When: Thursday, October 27 @ 8:00 PM
Where:
William Pitt Student Union Room 837

The SSPC strives to be as transparent as possible in its operation, and we recognize that input from the community is vital in making any project truly sustainable. That is why the SSPC holds a public hearing every fall to gather feedback and advice on proposals from both the proposers and from the entire Pitt community (that means you).

Here are some of the idea topics we’ll be hearing about on Thursday:

- Outdoor Recycling
- Waterless Urinals
- Plastic Bag Conservation and Recycling
- Inter-dorm energy conservation challenge
- Clothing collection bins
- E-waste collection and disposal
- Green grab bags
- Power Flower energy-generating functional sculpture
- Compost tea for grounds fertilization
- Growing oyster mushrooms on Sodexo coffee grounds

It should be a great discussion, so we hope to see you there!

Stay for the whole meeting, or only for part. Any input is welcome!

We’ll post more details about the projects on the Projects Page after the meeting, so you’ll be able to comment digitally if you can’t make it on Thursday.
